"The city store here on the City Hall campus is an important marketing tool for the city," said Assistant Analyst Sharla Sanders, who coordinates the store's activities. "People enjoy high-quality goods with our unique city name and a nice logo. Having the store online expands on that."

The site features photos of the wide variety of store merchandise, taken in natural desert settings that show off the Northwest Valley landscape.    

The city store is self-supporting, with sales dollars being used solely to keep merchandise in stock.   

"People like our products, and that enables us to keep the store going and innovate when it comes to products," Sanders said. "We added stuffed monkeys last fall, and they flew out of here."

The online store makes getting Surprise goods easier for everyone.

"You can shop from home whether you are in Arizona or in Iowa and Minnesota," Sanders said. "Last week we received an order from New York. It's all part of raising the profile of Surprise in the Valley and across the country."
