Celebrate the Fourth of July with Surprise Community and Recreation Services Department from 5 to 8:30 p.m. July 4 at the Surprise Recreation Campus.
Enjoy live entertainment, great food and family fun. The evening is highlighted with a 20-minute firework show set to patriotic music starting at dusk.
Surprise Stadium free ticketed event
Come inside the stadium and watch a Rookie League Baseball Game featuring the Texas Rangers taking on the Chicago Cubs. Concession stands will offer a variety of food and cold beverages, including $1 peanuts, popcorn, popsicles and $2 hot dogs and Coke (limit two per transaction). Kids can have fun in the Kid Zone with giant slides, obstacle courses, face painters and balloon twisters. There is a $2 charge to participate in the Kid Zone.
The July 4 celebration is free with a donation of a canned food item, which will be donated to the Valley View Community Food Bank. Space is limited to the first 10,000 (stadium capacity). Tickets will be required for admission. To guarantee a seat, pick up tickets early at the Community & Recreation Services Office, 15960 N. Bullard Ave.
At Surprise Community Park, 15953 N. Bullard Ave., at 6 p.m., families can sit back and enjoy live stage entertainment featuring This Ain't LA. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. Also at 6 p.m. at Surprise Recreation Campus, 15850 N. Bullard Ave., enjoy live music featuring The Hype at the 8-acre grass area north of the stadium. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.
