Game officers seek deer poachers
Comments 0 | Recommend 0YUMA, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Game and Fish Department is looking for whoever illegally killed a mule deer doe near Wellton on Thanksgiving Day.
The deer was shot in the front left shoulder with a small-caliber rifle and the carcass was left to go to waste in the desert.
Game officers say whoever shot the deer also left beer cans and trash behind.
They say the deer was poached near a popular hunting area known as Radium Hot Springs just east of Wellton.
The game department's Operation Game Thief is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
