Karen's Korner: Remembering Our Heroes
Comments 0 | Recommend 0This Wednesday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day – the day to show our support, respect and appreciation for the efforts, past and present, of our nation’s proud veterans.
In 1954 Congress changed the name from Armistice Day to Veterans Day to recognize veterans of all wars. In the United States, parades, ceremonies and various other events mark the holiday which now celebrates the approximate 2.9 million U.S. veterans.
To help commemorate this important date, Adultcare Assistance Homecare will be giving away free American flags. Be sure to stop by the Adultcare Assistance office at 10404 W. Coggins Drive, Suite 101, located in the Sunset Plaza in Sun City, to get your free flag between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., beginning Nov. 9, while supplies last. Also be sure to pick up a new 2010 Monthly Planner and pen, compliments of Adultcare Assistance Homecare.
