Willow Canyon thespians earn raves

The Willow Canyon High School Theater Department received a superior rating at the International Thespian Society Festival, which was in Lincoln, Neb.

Willow Canyon students Alyx Kleinsteiber, Marina Sarti and Laura Pickens received the superior rating in the group musical performance at the festival from June 23-29. The musical group competed at the Arizona Thespian State Festival where they also received a rating of superior, earning them the opportunity to represent Arizona at the International Festival.

Three additional Willow Canyon High students competed and were recognized at the international event.

Nathan Spector competed in the solo acting competition and received a rating of excellent.

Justin Baugus and Max Brinkmeyer competed in the duet acting category and also received an excellent rating.
