Glendale Powerball player wins $200,000 prize
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Two Powerball tickets sold in Arizona matched all five white ball numbers for the Aug. 19 drawing to earn $200,000 each.
Nicholle Beloat of Glendale claimed her $200,000 prize Aug. 27. Beloat purchased her ticket at the Balyns Lobby Store at 400 E. Van Buren St., in Phoenix. A second ticket worth $200,000 was purchased at the Shell station at 18183 S. Highway 93 in Wikieup, a small town in Mohave County northeast of Lake Havasu City. The holder of that ticket has not yet come forward.
The tickets were two of 17 nationwide that matched all five white ball numbers for the second prize. Four of those tickets earned $1 million because the purchaser plunked down another dollar for the Power Play option, which automatically quadruples the second-prize amount.
“The Arizona Lottery is thrilled to have two second-prize Powerball winners from our state,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director for the Arizona Lottery. “I encourage anyone who bought a Powerball ticket for the Aug. 19 drawing at the Shell station in Wikieup to dig it out and check their tickets; they may hold a $200,000 prize.”
The winning numbers from the Aug. 19 drawing were 14, 24, 31, 43, 51, and the Powerball was 27. The $259.9 million jackpot was won by a single ticket holder in South Carolina.
The jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball drawing is $33 million.
The drawings are broadcast during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix, Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson, and in Spanish on Univision Arizona. Powerball is played in 30 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Players can also check their numbers by logging onto arizonalottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hot lines at 480-829-PICK in Phoenix and 1-800-499-3798 in all other Arizona areas.
You must be at least 21 to purchase or redeem tickets.
