Daily News-Sun

The Recreation Centers of Sun City West hired Ernie Prindle as the association's chief financial officer, effective Thursday.

Prindle succeeds Roger Lansberry, who is retiring Wednesday after four years with the association.

Prindle, a Surprise resident, comes to the rec centers with an extensive background in budget development, management and finances.

Most recently, he served as special project accountant at Maricopa County Managed Care Systems. He was also the budget coordinator for the Maricopa County Management and Budget Office.

From 1983 to 1991, and again from 1996 to 1999, Prindle was assistant general manager for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.

Prindle also worked as a consultant for the Harvey M. Rose Accountancy Corp. for several years, and as an auditor for the U.S. General Accounting Office. He served on the board of directors for the Water Resources Municipal Property Corp. in Gilbert; and on several committees and task forces in California.

In Sun City West, Prindle will head day-to-day operations in the rec centers accounting department, and will be responsible for assisting the general manager in preparing the annual budget, updating the association's business plan, participating in year-end audits and managing the purchasing department and sports pavilion staff.
