PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — Police have made an arrest after a Prescott gallery owner was stabbed last Friday.

Witnesses notified police after the suspect, 35-year-old Phillip M. Ewing, was seen hanging around the area where the stabbing occurred.

Police took Ewing into custody Wednesday, interviewed him and booked him into the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde.

Prescott police investigators said 50-year-old Tammy Camarot suffered a single stab wound to her lower back.

She was flown to Flagstaff Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Doctors treated and released her.

It's not clear what led to the stabbing.
