2 teenage suspects arrested in El Mirage shooting
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Police have arrested two teenagers in Monday's shooting at the intersection of Thunderbird and Primrose roads in El Mirage.
Each suspect, ages 15 and 16, were charged Wednesday with six counts of aggravated assault, police said.
At about 6:55 p.m. Monday, there was a verbal exchange between the suspects, who were in a car, and six teenagers at the intersection, according to police. Shortly after the exchange, the suspects' vehicle stopped, and the suspects emerged from the car, firing several rounds at the victims, striking three of them.
Evidence at the scene led investigators to believe that the suspects used .40-caliber handguns, police said. Both the victims and suspects allegedly have gang affiliations, police said.
Authorities said none of the gunshot wounds is considered life threatening. Police said they are continuing to search for other people who were in the car at the time of the shooting.
