Agency identifies MVD offices being closed
Comments 0 | Recommend 0PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Department of Transportation is identifying which 12 Motor Vehicle Divisions will be closed because of state budget troubles.
According to ADOT's announcement Tuesday, customer service offices to be closed in rural areas include ones in Ajo, Benson, Bisbee, Clifton, Fredonia and Kearny. Others are St. Johns, Superior, Willcox and Williams. In Maricopa County, offices in central Phoenix and east Mesa will be closed.
Timetables for closures will be set after completion of federal reviews required because MVD offices are used for voter registration.
MVD currently has 61 offices, and ADOT says it picked the ones being closed by factors such as numbers of customers served, availability of other service locations and facility conditions.
