2 children burned in backyard fire in Phoenix
Comments 0 | Recommend 0PHOENIX (AP) — A child has been seriously burned and a man arrested after he allegedly allowed children to throw aerosol cans into a fire in his backyard.
The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a call about a burn victim near 83rd Avenue and west Buckeye Road on Monday night and found a 12-year-old girl with first and second degree burns.
Phoenix Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said the girl was one of three children in the backyard of a home.
Crump said the 32-year-old homeowner had a fire and was letting the children throw cans, including aerosol cans, into the fire.
Phoenix Police arrested the homeowner on suspicion of endangerment.
The homeowner's 7-year-old son also suffered first-degree burns. Both the girl and the boy were hospitalized.
