Peoria PD probes pair of shootings
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Peoria Police are investigating two shootings over the weekend, one that occurred at a local bar and the other in a neighborhood when a homeowner ran after someone he said was trying to steal his vehicle.
Mike Tellef, Peoria Police spokesman, said a 28-year-old Anthem resident was taken to a Valley hospital for injuries, then released, after being struck by gunfire in the right leg at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Salty Senorita's in Peoria.
Tellef said the victim saw someone in a red Chevrolet Trailblazer fire a shot from a handgun. The bullet ricocheted and hit the man in the leg.
At 4 a.m. Sunday, a 43-year-old man was taken to a hospital after someone fired several shots at him, with one striking him in the knee.
The homeowner heard someone outside of his home and looked out a window to see a suspect trying to steal his vehicle, Tellef said.
The man tried to run after the suspect, who fired three rounds at him striking his knee. The other shots hit the truck and garage.
There are two to three suspects, police said. They drove away in a vehicle described as a dark-green Chevrolet pickup.
