El Mirage police distribute summer safety information

The El Mirage Police Department has put together a "summer safety" packet for parents. These packets are free for El Mirage residents and include information for parents and children about summer activities that will benefit everyone.

Included in the packets are:

• Information on summer programs such as Let’s Cook (kids cooking class), guitar lessons, All-Star Performers and Cheer, summer track program, martial arts, Summer Basketball Camp, Mad Science summer programs, Babysitting 101 and Dysart Community Center summer program.

• New parent and child safety/fingerprint kits.

• Children’s toothbrush kit.

• Think Fire Safety — pencils, stickers and coloring book.

• Police Officers Care — coloring book, stickers and pool safety sheet.

• Various handouts on drug addiction, bullying, A Parent’s Guide for Preventing Gangs, 101 Ways to Say No to Violence, tips for teens for tobacco, Club Drugs, Inhalants, Methamphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana and Crystal Meth and other stimulants.

The packets are available at the El Mirage Police Department at 14405 N. Palm St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and also will be distributed by El Mirage patrol officers. For information, residents may call the El Mirage Police Department at 623-433-9500.
