Helmet protects rider in motorcycle accident
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A motorcyclist suffered injuries early Tuesday morning in El Mirage after he swerved to avoid rear ending another vehicle. Major head injuries were avoided because the rider was wearing his helmet, police said.
El Mirage Police said the driver was traveling eastbound around 7:50 a.m. on Olive Avenue, west of El Mirage Road, when he took "evasive action" to avoid hitting the car in front of him. The driver was thrown over the front of the bike when the rear wheel of the motorcycle locked up.
He was taken to Boswell Memorial Hospital in Sun City by El Mirage Fire with injuries to his legs and arms, while his helmet prevented head injuries.
