Meyerhoffer joins

ACS national board

Pamela K. Meyerhoffer, FAHP, ABC, has been recognized in leadership roles with Sun Health and the American Cancer Society.

As chief executive officer for Sun Health Foundation and executive vice president for Sun Health, Meyerhoffer was recognized by staff members for 25 years of dedicated service to Sun Health and West Valley communities.

Meyerhoffer is an accredited business communicator and a fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. She and her team work to communicate important health information to various audiences, empower area residents to live well and generate financial support.

In addition, Meyerhoffer is one of 11 new officers recently elected to the ACS’s volunteer national board of directors. The organization’s National Assembly and national board of directors, the society’s governing bodies, have comprised elected volunteers since the organization’s inception in 1913.

Serving as ACS secretary, Meyerhoffer has been an active volunteer for the society for 36 years. Meyerhoffer also is the immediate past board chairwoman for the society’s Great West Division.

Dueling piano bar

opens at Westgate

Glendale is gearing up to welcome The Shout! House (www.theshouthouse.com) Rock N’Roll Dueling Piano Bar, which will open its doors today.

Guests are welcome to eat and drink as two piano players/singers go head-to-head to see who gets stumped first. The Shout! House’s guests select classic hits from the ’50s to the present, creating a nonstop party-filled night with music and comedy as the crowd sings along.

Doors open at 4 p.m., and the pianos start nightly at 6:30. The Shout! House is at 6770 N. Sunrise Blvd, Suite 207, in the Westgate Entertainment District on the second floor.

Piano sing-a-long is a concept that originated in New Orleans at Pat O’Brien’s many years ago. The Shout! House has given it a contemporary twist with audience interaction and comedy for adults.

The Shout! House is extending its hours over Super Bowl weekend, Friday through Sunday, and will open its doors at 11 a.m.

Grill at the Wigwam

throws party for fans

The Grill at The Wigwam, the newest restaurant at The Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa, will be the site of a Super Bowl viewing party for all fans from 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday.

In addition to two flat-screens in the lounge, two plasma-screen TVs and an 84-inch projection screen will be added to the dining room for optimum viewing of football’s biggest game. The Grill at The Wigwam also will offer food and drink specials throughout the day.

Seating is limited, and early arrival is suggested. For information, call The Grill at The Wigwam at 623-856-1094.

Clydesdales arrive

in Glendale

Many events are planned in conjunction with the Super Bowl at the Native New Yorker, 7273 N. 95th Ave. in Glendale.

Coors Light brings the Ultimate NFL Experience, which includes Coors Light Custom Super Bowl Hummer with hydraulic football trailer from 4 to 11 p.m. Thursday. The hydraulic football splits down the middle to reveal two back-to-back, 60-inch plasma TVs with satellite TV capability and a barbecue grill.

On Friday, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be at the store from 4 to 7 p.m. Also on hand will be the Budweiser Girls.

Bud Light will continue the Bud Light Explosion until closing on Saturday, with four televisions featuring NBA and NHL games all day.

Coors returns from noon to 11 p.m. Sunday with the Coors Light One Million Dollar Custom interactive Super Bowl Airstream bus.

This NFL Phenomenon includes a 50-inch plasma TV on the side of the bus, six plasma TVs inside the bus and two stand-alone TVs for the Ultimate Guitar Hero Challenge.
