Local legion post garners honor
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Department of Arizona American Legion Award has been presented to John J Morris American Legion Post & Unit 62.
The trophy and award is given to the unit submitting the most complete year-round narrative report in activity cooperation between the unit and post in Arizona. The award entails involvement in Veterans Affairs, Children & Youth, Legislative activities, Community Service, Americanism, Education and Public relations in their area. This was the first time for this award to be presented to John J Morris American Legion 62 Family.
The Sun City/ Peoria legion group has more than 3,500 members.
The award was presented at the Annual American Legion State Convention that was held in Tucson the end of June by the American Legion, Department of Arizona State Adjutant John Aldecoa.
