Betlach named to lead Arizona health care agency
Comments 0 | Recommend 0PHOENIX (AP) — A veteran state government budget official is the new director of Arizona's Medicaid health care program.
Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday announced the promotion of Deputy Director Thomas Betlach to direct the Arizona Healthcare Cost Containment System (access), replacing Anthony Rodgers.
According to Brewer's announcement, Rodgers is going to be a consultant for a major hospital company, Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates.
Rodgers was appointed AHCCCS director in 2003 by then-Gov. Janet Napolitano.
Betlach has been the AHCCCS deputy director since 2002. His other state jobs included serving as former Gov. Jane Hull's budget director.
