Dog in burglary case returns home

Louie is back in his El Mirage home.

The 7-year-old Labrador/Chow mix was found in his yard Thursday, four days after he was discovered missing following a robbery at a home on West Windrose Drive, said Bill Louis, El Mirage assistant police chief.

Initially, authorities indicated that the dog may have been taken in the burglary along with two large-screen televisions and a 20-gauge shotgun. But now it appears the burglar may  have let Louie out of the fenced back yard.

"We think the burglars might have left one of the doors open and that's how he got out in the first place," Louis said.
