City slates regular trash pickup on July 4

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The Surprise Solid Waste Division reminds residents that regular-scheduled trash and recyclable collection service will occur on July 4.

"Traditionally, the Fourth of July has been a holiday for our crews, but with the schedule change that we enacted in February we feared that a Friday holiday would confuse residents, so we decided to treat this July 4 holiday as a regular Friday workday," said Solid Waste Division Manager Charles Ramer.

Residents living in Sanitation Zone 3 will have their trash collected July 4. This includes the following neighborhoods that are north of Greenway Road and west of Reems Road: Mountain Vista, Northwest Ranch, Bell West Ranch, Surprise Farms, Bell Pointe, Desert Oasis, Saguaro Acres, Section 10, 219th Avenue and 239th Avenue.

Those living in Sanitation Zone 4 will have their recycling collected July 4. This includes the following neighborhoods that are south of Greenway and west of Reems Road: Legacy Parc, Greenway Parc, Sycamore Farms, Sarah Anne Ranch, Sierra Montana, Greer Ranch and Tash.

All other city offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day.
