Glendale gears up for Fiesta Bowl with Gridiron Jam

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Glendale is partnering with the Fiesta Bowl for a football-themed fan festival two days before the city hosts the 2009 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl championship game.

The Fiesta Bowl Gridiron Jam will be in downtown Glendale from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Valley residents and out-of-town visitors will enjoy street performances by local artists, football-related attractions, interactive games and merchandise, as well as food and beer gardens.

There will also be special appearances by college football personalities during the event.

When the sun sets, Glendale Glitters, Arizona's largest free holiday light display, will light up the nighttime sky with more than 1.5 million lights throughout 12 blocks of the historic downtown area.

For information, call the Special Events Hot line at 623-930-2299, or visit www.glendaleaz.com/events.
