Get into the holiday spirit by constructing and decorating a gingerbread house for the seventh annual Surprise Party Gingerbread House Contest Dec. 6.

There are four categories this year: adult, youth, family and groups. Entry is free and prizes will be awarded to top three in each category. Prizes include ribbons and a $50 valued prize for first place, $25 for second and $15 for third. 

Entry forms are due to the Community Services and Recreation office by Dec. 1. Entrants must deliver their creations to the Surprise Party, at 8 Acres Park, 15850 N. Bullard Ave., between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 6.
