Michigan alums fill food bank coffers
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The University of Michigan Alumni Club Sun Cities and West Valley club council will sponsor a community service day for Valley View Community Food Bank at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The club has been collecting nonperishable food items and canned goods and will deliver them to the food bank, 11115 W. Nevada Ave. in Youngtown.
The food bank aims to collect at least 5,000 cans in the next few weeks. Most needed items are tuna, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, rice, cereal, pasta, beans, juice in plastic bottles and monetary donations.
