OWNERS: Iris Kim, and mom, Tina. Iris Kim’s brother, Masa, is the owner/chef at the Glendale location.

SPECIALTY OF THE HOUSE: More than 60 types of sushi rolls and signature rolls, such as the Booty Booty Roll and Surprise Roll. Specialty dishes such as bi bim bap available at Surprise location only.
POPULAR APPETIZER: Monkey Brain (mushroom cap stuffed with tuna, deep fried and topped with special sauces); shrimp and vegetable tempura.
POPULAR LUNCH ENTRÉE: Bento Box (Japanese lunch boxes) — choose from a variety of many Japanese foods, all served in a box with miso soup, salad and steamed rice.
POPULAR DINNER ENTRÉE: Fresh sushi, sashimi and rolls; yakisoba; chicken and beef entrees for non-sushi eaters.
POPULAR DESSERT: Tempura cheesecake.

PRICE RANGE: “It depends on how hungry you are!” said Iris Kim. Lunch combos start at $6.95 and dinner combos start at $12.
WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW: This is the second location for the family-owned and operated restaurant. “It is the only authentic sushi restaurant in Surprise,” Iris Kim said. The Glendale location, 6645 W. Bell Road, Suite A103, has been open since October 2006. The restaurant offers sake, wine and beer.
UNIQUE TIDBITS: “Mom is in the kitchen offering traditional Japanese home cooking,” Iris Kim said.
