Surprise earns recognition for work with deaf and hard of hearing
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Surprise earned a Merit Award from the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
The group will present Mayor Lyn Truitt with the award at an Aug. 27 event at the Northwest Regional Library on Bullard Avenue. The presentation will begin at 6 p.m.
The award recognizes the city's notable contributions to residents who are deaf, deaf and blind and hard of hearing.
Members of ACDHH have been visiting various Arizona communities celebrating their 30 years of service. Their mission for this final Town Hall meeting is "to connect with you, share our vision and answer your questions."
The visit to Surprise will cap a public outreach tour designed to celebrate where they have been and where they are going in an effort to provide the most effective services possible.
