Surprise City Academy accepting applications
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Human Services Division of the Surprise Community Initiatives Department is now accepting applications for the next Surprise City Academy.
The mission of the Surprise City Academy is to introduce residents to city government and to provide them with the information, resources and tools they need to become more educated community members and effective neighborhood leaders.
Participants will learn all about the local government structure, including funding processes, and they will be provided an avenue to voice their concerns in a structured educational environment.
The classes will be commencing May 6, from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m., and will run for a period of ten sessions. Most classes will be held at the Surprise Community Center, 15832 N. Hollyhock Street. One class will be conducted at the Fire Department; one session will be a presentation by the Police Department at Sun City Grand; and an additional class meeting is scheduled at City Hall to observe a City Council session on May 8.
To request an application contact Surprise Human Services at 623.222.1653 or 623.222.1651.
