Guard changes in Sun City West

Thursday's regular meeting will mark the end of the tenure for three Recreation Centers of Sun City West board members.

Current President Matt Szydlowski, Treasurer Norm Bunas and member Flora Capps will sit in on their final meeting.

"I'm already going through some withdrawal pains," Szydlowski joked. "I'm going to miss it. I'm going to miss everything about working with the governing board for three plus years and all the friends I've met along the way. I'm going to miss seeing them at meetings."

At a workshop meeting earlier this month, new board members were sworn in and new officers elected.

Ron Gillmeister will take over as president, effective July 1. Joining him will be Dave Moeller as vice president, Karyl Brandvold as secretary and Scott Ellis as treasurer.

The board will discuss Association investments in the CDARS program as well as decide to release funds for the renovation project for the Stardust Pro Shop, Szydlowski said.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the R.H. Johnson Social Hall.
