RCSC lines up bus tours
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Recreation Centers of Sun City have reservations available for the following bus tours in August:
Dolphins and Whales 3D at IMAX Theater, Aug. 5, $32 per person. Depart at 11 a.m., return at 5 p.m.
Immerse yourself in the emotional adventure of underwater explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau's documentary film. Explore the coral reefs of the Bahamas to the warm depths of the waters of the exotic Kingdom of Tonga for a close encounter with the surviving tribes of the ocean. Witness stunning images captured for the first time in 3-D and observe their lives and never-before-seen habitats. View dolphins and belugas up close, witness the profound love of a Humpback mother for her newborn calf and meet the mighty king of the ocean, an orca. After the movie, have lunch on your own from vendors in the food court or the Raintree Forest Restaurant. There will also be time allowed for shopping.
Tortilla Flat and Dolly Steamboat Cruise, Aug. 9, $68 per person. Depart 9:30 a.m., return 6 p.m.
First, enjoy lunch (included) at Tortilla Flat and for dessert, everyone looks forward to prickly pear ice cream for dessert. Relax and enjoy the scenery on a 90-minute cruise on "The Dolly Steamboat" at Canyon Lake. Experience the splendor of the canyons, wildlife and desert plants in their natural habitat on one of Arizona's most beautiful desert lakes. Absorb the portions of the lakes that can be seen only by boat.
"The Music Man" at Hale Centre Theatre, Aug. 15, $39 per person. Depart at 5:45 p.m., return at 11 p.m.
This musical by Meredith Wilson is one of the most beloved musicals of all time. Hale Centre Theatre produces this show about a fast-talking salesman and a pretty, no-nonsense librarian. With its rousing score and high-spirited dancing, this musical will march its way straight into your heart.
Take me out to the ballgame: Diamondbacks vs. Padres, Aug. 19, $33 per person. Depart 5 p.m., return 10:30 p.m.
The popular Arizona Diamondbacks take on the San Diego Padres. See such Diamondback players as Brandon Webb, Randy Johnson, Miguel Montero, Chris Burke, Orlando Hudson and Jeff Salazar and Padres players Mike Adams, Bryan Corey, Tony Clark, Adrian Gonzalez and Jody Gerut. Seats are located along the left field in Section 110. Food is available from vendors, but not included.
Pageant of the Masters, Aug. 25-27, $519 per person for double occupancy, $699 per person for single occupancy. Depart 8:30 a.m. Aug. 25, return at 7-7:30 p.m. Aug. 27
Summer fun and exploration are yours on this Southern California tour. Pageant of the Masters, a tradition since 1933, is featured on the three-day, two-night tour including deluxe motorcoach transportation, professional tour guide, snacks, water and soda on the coach, two nights at the Ayres Hotel and Suites, baggage handling, two breakfasts, two dinners, entrance to the Sawdust Festival, seats at the Pageant of the Masters, docent tour of Mission San Juan Capistrano and Crystal Cathedral Grounds, driver and guide gratuities.
Bus tour tickets are available in the Lakeview Recreation Center Clubs Office 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. A cardholder may not buy tickets for other members when the cardholder does not participate in a particular tour. Tickets can be purchased using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, check or cash. There is a maximum of six tickets per tour, per cardholder. You must have a valid RCSC member or privilege card available when buying tickets. All tours depart from Bell Recreation Center. Inquire about trip cancellation insurance for overnight tours.
