Birt's Bistro and Bookstore will have a "Brown Bag Book Sale" Thursday and Friday when, for $6, customers can take home as many books as they can fit in one of Birt's Bistro and Bookstore's large brown paper bags.
"We currently have a great selection of gently used books all organized by categories and genre," said Joanne Anderson, vice president of business operations for Interfaith's Community Care, which operates the bookstore at the Hellen and John M. Jacobs Independence Plaza, 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise. "We even plan on having vintage and special collectors' edition books in the future."
The bistro is open 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The books in the used bookstore are donated by the community and sold at minimal costs. The bistro offers specialty coffee drinks, made-to-order sandwiches, soups and salads. Menus for the bistro and its catering service may be found at http://www.interfaithcommunitycare.org/bookstore.html.
