Ventana Lakes resident vies for PUSD board seat

Ventana Lakes resident and HOA board member Joe McCord announced his candidacy for the Peoria Unified School District Governing Board.

McCord, a nine-year Peoria resident who served 28 years in the military, said he felt his experience would be a valuable addition to the district. McCord spent eight years on a community college board in California, and he said his master's degree in business economics will make him an asset during budget discussions.

"I've been attending the PUSD board meetings for about six months now and I think I have a handle on the problems the board and district have," McCord said.
