Sun City Grand CAM board director resigns
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Harvey Noteboom, a longtime member of the board of directors for Sun City Grand Community Association Management, has resigned.
Noteboom's resignation, effective last Friday, was accepted by the board at its regular meeting Thursday. Noteboom served on the board for more than four years. He resigned from his post as board president in January but had intended to serve his full term until March 2009.
Current President John Such said the board has no plans to fill Noteboom's seat in the near future.
"There's nothing in our documents that say we have to do anything," he said. "The documents state that there will be a board of between three and seven. We can really do anything we want to. We can keep it vacant, or we can fill it at a later time.
"The board has not decided what way we want to go with it."
Such said Noteboom resigned for personal reasons.
"It is with great reluctance we accept the resignation," director Maurice Blake said after the board and several residents and staff in attendance applauded Noteboom, who was in the audience.
The board also unanimously approved the establishment of a landscape committee, the ninth advisory committee to the board. The committee was championed by member Jan Kroesen, who said 10 applications have already been turned in for spots on the committee.
"I'm excited about it," he said. "But there are still a lot of things to be done."
In conjunction with the landscape committee, which will make recommendations to the board about landscaping in the community, the board approved the formation of LAMPS, or Landscape Area Maintenance Patrol Service. The group will volunteer to clean up landscaped areas in the community and notify the board and staff when there is a problem.
