Speaker offers taste of African-American culture
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Oscar Johnson, a resident of Sun City West, will lead a discussion on the introduction to cultural traditions and celebrations of African-Americans at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Sun City Library, 16828 N. 99th Ave.
The three celebrations that will be discussed are the African American History Month, Kwanzaa and Juneteenth. Also included in the discussion will be the tricolor African-American flag, its origin and symbolic colors, as well as the African-American national anthem, a display of art, books, clothing and other materials.
There will be time for questions. Light samples of traditional soul food will be served following the presentation. For information, call 623-886-8984 or e-mail ojmj1966@cox.net.
